About this course
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal law designed to protect sensitive patient health information and ensure privacy and security standards are met. For community health workers, understanding and adhering to HIPAA is essential to maintaining patient trust, promoting confidentiality, and effectively delivering high-quality, respectful care.
In this course, you will learn about the impact of HIPAA in your role as a Community Health Worker.
Note: If working in a HIPAA covered organization this training is only an introduction, and you may still be required to attend HIPAA training through your employer. Not all organizations are HIPAA covered entities.
